Phantom Job
Phantom Berserker
"Savagery and unfailing courage characterize the recollections of this former berserker. These techniques entail great risk and even greater reward."
Overview
- Phantom Berserker is not a beginner-friendly Phantom Job, as it actively encourages playing through mechanics incorrectly. If you have not yet cleared Forked Tower: Blood, please do so before trying this job.
- The mitigation in this guide is balanced to keep things comfortable for yourself and your healers. If you plan to use less mitigation or adjust Rage timings, please ask your healers for consent first.
- Because Berserker gains damage by taking damage, it does not work on Paladin or Gunbreaker.
Never use Rage during Hallways or Bridges unless you are experienced with them and have spoken to your Host beforehand.
How does Berserker work?
- Rage renders you immovable for 10 seconds, during which you auto-attack the target six times at 150 potency (~60k per hit).
- While under the effect of Rage, you gain Pent-up Rage, which multiplies the damage of your next Deadly Blow by approximately 5 times the total damage taken, up to a hard cap of ~2.4 million.
- Deadly Blow also deals increased damage the lower your current HP is. This effect becomes irrelevant once you reach the 2.4 million cap.
Remove Mitigation Macros
Berserker's damage scales with how much damage you take during Rage. Mitigation applied by healers directly reduces that incoming damage and lowers your Pent-up Rage multiplier. Use the macro for your healer's job before each Rage to strip their buffs from you.

Boss 1: Demon Tablet
- Rage 1 (Occult Chisel)
- Occult Chisel targets the 3 highest players on the aggro list. Press Invuln and Rage at approximately 50% of the castbar.
- If you have a Phantom Oracle in your party, they can immune you instead of using your Invuln.
You need to be healed immediately after Occult Chisel resolves. The follow-up auto-attack will kill you if you have not been healed up. Let your healers know beforehand.
- Rage 1.5 (Rotate Left/Right, first pair)
- If Rage 1 was pressed early enough during the Occult Chisel cast, its cooldown will have expired by the time the first Rotate Left/Right fires, letting you squeeze in a second Rage. Go to the wrong side and press Rage after the spin resolves.
- Use 20% + 90s + 25s mitigation to survive the damage.
- Rage 2 (Rotate Left/Right, second pair)
- After the first Cometeor of Expulsion, there is a second pair of Rotate Left/Right casts. Go to the wrong side and press Rage after the spin resolves.
- Use 40% + 25s mitigation to survive. With a trusted healer, 20% is sufficient.
- If you have a Phantom Oracle in your party, use Invuln + Rage instead.
- Rage 3 (After Summon / Add Phase)
- After the Summon / Add Phase ends, press Rage to absorb 2 boss auto-attacks (or 3 if Rage 2 was pressed early enough). No mitigation is needed and it is not worth saving.
Boss 2: Dead Stars
- Rage 1 (Slice 'n' Dice)
- Slice 'n' Dice is a conal tankbuster.
- If Warrior: use Holmgang.
- All other tanks: use 40% + 90s + 25s + Reprisal.
- Slice 'n' Dice is a conal tankbuster.
- Rage 2 (Three-Body Problem: Green)
- Position yourself in the overlap of the last two Frozen Fallout jumps and press Rage. Requires at least 40% mitigation.
- If you have a Phantom Oracle in your party, they can immune you instead.
- Rage 3 (Three-Body Problem: Purple)
- Press Rage before Snowballs to take the Three-Body Problem AoE (Green or Red).
- If an immune add is present, Rage it instead, then swap back to the boss for Deadly Blow.
- Rage 4 (Three-Body Problem: Red)
- First set of Elemental Impact towers. Use Invuln after the first hit, then press Rage.
Bridges: Progenitor/Progenitrix
- Rage (Wild Charge lines 1-2)
- Be in front during the first Wild Charge line and soak it normally to gain the Piercing Resistance Down debuff.
- During the second line, be in front again. Once you see the telegraph, press Invuln and Rage.
- If you have a Phantom Oracle in your party, they can immune you instead of using your Invuln.
Only do this during the first 2 Wild Charge lines! The main tank will drag the boss after line 3 for adds, and you might walk into a trap.
Boss 3: Marble Dragon
- Rage 1 (Imitation Star)
- Stay at the boss, press 3 GCDs, then Rage.
- Rage 2 (Dread Deluge, second)
- Provoke after the Knights have taken their hits.
- Kitchensink it. Using Invuln alone will not save you, as the DoT will kill you once it expires.
- If you have a Phantom Oracle in your party: use Invuln on the tankbuster. Once your Invuln expires, the Oracle extends it. You must be healed before the extension expires, as you will take one DoT tick before it falls off. Talk to your healers beforehand.
- Provoke after the Knights have taken their hits.
- Rage 3 (Withering Eternity)
- Option 1: If an Ice Sprite enrages, use Invuln + Rage to instakill it.
- Option 2: Rage through Lifeless Legacy, the raidwide that ends the Add Phase.
- Rage 4 (Imitation Star, after Imitation Rain 3)
- Press Rage to absorb the Imitation Star raidwide that fires after Imitation Rain 3 resolves.
- Rage 5 (Dread Deluge, final)
- The same rules as Rage 2 apply.
If the boss is below 10% health, skip Rage 5.
- The same rules as Rage 2 apply.
Boss 4: Magitaur
- Rage 1 (first Unseal autos)
- First Unseal autos. Use 20% + 90s + 25s mitigation and press Rage after the Unseal cast ends (not Unsealed Aura).
- Can be taken off-platform to guarantee 3 auto-attacks.
Do not take autos off-platform on prog runs. It requires other tanks to be alive and performing the mechanic correctly.
- If you have a Phantom Oracle in your party: use your 90s cooldown for the first auto-hit and let them immune you for hits 2 and 3.
- Can be taken off-platform to guarantee 3 auto-attacks.
- First Unseal autos. Use 20% + 90s + 25s mitigation and press Rage after the Unseal cast ends (not Unsealed Aura).
